When I step off my porch toward the end of summer, these flowers are what I see. Their beauty stays in bloom usually until the first snowfall.
Japanese Anemone are their official name. I prefer to think of them as friendship or peace flowers.
Some of these were gifted to my friend by her husband’s aunt. When I built my home my friend in turn gifted some to me. And when she moved, I gifted some back. A neighbor who walks her dog by my house often mentioned how beautiful they are. One day she walked by while I was sitting on my porch and I told her to stop. I dug up a few, placed them in a bag, and they now grace her garden. One of the men who installed my sidewalk also is blessed with these flowers.
