About sondasmcschatter

I was encouraged to start a blog as I suffer from MCS /multi chemical sensitivities & other health problems & I have helped several hundred others who suffer from MCS set up "Safe Homes" & given them encouragement & HOPE & share information & lots of laughs along the way also. When you choose to use fragrances, chemicals, or pesticides, You are not simply making a choice for yourself, You are making a choice for everyone around you!!!! What makes me an expert on MCS-- not a darn thing-- BUT have lived with it for years-& years- & have learned lots the HARD WAY-- by experience!! And want to give others help & HOPE & encouragement -- as I know there are not many who understand what it is to live with this illness- & ALL THAT GOES WITH IT!!! Internet has been my way of communication with many who we are confined to their "safe homes" all over the USA & other countries!! I have communicated with many HUNDRED by e-mail-- phone & letters & internet forums-- I hope this blog will help in a better way to share laughter-- hope & information!!! As for many are not any longer able to even leave their homes-- & communication is sooo important & sharing & encouragement & GIVING HOPE!!!

I’m over the moon excited for you Sonda. I laughed though. Somewhere long ago I think I remember that you would never go back to Kansas to live.:D I’m learning to never say never to God — cause that is usually what I end up doing. I can’t wait to see photos. Do you think they would agree to get rid of the candles now so it would be more detoxed by the time you moved in?

    • I AM OVER THE MOON EXCITED ALSO— & SO IS GARY & THE GIRLS— WE WROTE IN THE CONTRACT– IF THEY ACCEPTED IT– THAT THE SCENTED CANDLES LEFT THE PROPERTY AS SOON AS THEY ACCEPTED THE CONTRACT!!!! YES— I DID SAY— MANY TIMES— I AM NOT MOVING BACK TO KANSAS!!!!!! 🙂 AND I HEAR IN MY EARS– MY DAD SAYING– DON’T SAY NEVER– AS THAT IS WHAT YOU WILL HAVE TO END UP DOING!!!!! 🙂 I HAVE A GARDEN SPOT— LOTS OF TREES & FLOWERS– BUT OF COARSE GARY WILL PLANT MORE– & TAKE STARTS FROM ALL HIS FLOWERS— I HAVE A CLOTHES LINE– & CAN HAVE MY CHICKENS— & I CAN’T SPIT ON MY NEIGHBORS HOUSE—— WE HAVE NEIGHBORS— BUT NOT REALLY CLOSE– & GARY HAS 2 BIG CITY LOTS ACROSS THE ROAD– (AS MOST ALL STREETS IN BURNS ARE GRAVEL) WHERE HE CAN STORE HIS GUY STUFF– & PLAN ON LATTER PUTTING IN A SHOP FOR HIM OVER THERE!!! AND WE HAVE NO HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION!!!!!!!!! PRAISE BE TO GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

      • Colleen says:

Smart woman. Taking candles out of a house maybe a first for a contract. 😀 I’m still exploring my house options. Hopefully, I’ll get a nudge on what direction to take soon.

      • GARY & I RECEIVED SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY LEARNING LESSONS IN OUR MCS SAFE HOME SEARCH– & WE CERTAINLY SAW LOTS OF STATES & LOTS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROPERTY——– WE TRAVELED MANY MILES– FOR US TO FIND PEOPLE HAD LIED ABOUT THE CONDITION– & THE TOXIC CHEMICALS– THEY REALLY DID USE THAT THEY SAID THEY DIDN’T!!! WE MET SOME WONDERFUL PEOPLE & WE MET SOME NOT SO WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO WE KNEW WE DIDN’T WANT TO BE LIKE!!!!!! WHEN WE ALL –BUT TOTALLY GAVE UP— OUR SEARCH— WE FOUND OUR HOME!!!!!!! GOD HAD A LOT HE WANTED TO TEACH US— BUT WITH ALL THE LOOKING– & LOOKING– & LOOKING– WE KNEW WHAT WE DID & DIDN’T WANT!!!!! 🙂 I KNOW GOD AS A SUPER DUPER PLACE FOR YOU ALSO— & I HOPE YOU DON’T HAVE AS MANY LESSONS TO LEARN AS WE DID!!!!!! 🙂

      • Colleen says:

No more lessons — that would be lovely. I’ve been watching a lot of tiny house videos and paying very close attention to when they mention non-toxic ways to build like shredded old denim for insulation. Even as I typed it — I wondered — if they had been washed in fabric softener — if anyone thought of that?

      • ISN’T THAT THE TRUTH!!!— WE HAVE AN MCS SISTER WHO HAD A TINY HOME BUILT IN A “GREEN COMMUNITY” IN ARIZ— SHE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH HER HOME AFTER SHE HAD IT BUILT–AS IT ENDED UP NOT BEING A SAFE HOME— FOR HER ANYWAY & SHE DID NOT OWN THE LAND– & THEN MANY OF THE SERVICES SHE HAD NOT HAD TO PAY FOR IN THE COMMUNITY BECAME MANY $$$ & SHE ENDED UP SELLING IT AFTER A BIG INVESTMENT— AS SHE SAID—- MANY MANY MANY LESSONS LEARNED!!! YOU ARE CORRECT– UNLESS YOU HAVE MCS– OF HAVE A LOVED ONE WITH MCS— MANY THINGS ARE TOTALLY TAKEN FOR GRANTED— LIKE HOW WERE THOSE THE BLUE JEANS AS INSULATION WASHED & DID THEY HAVE SCENTED PRODUCTS USED ON THEM!!! AND SO MANY THOUSAND OTHER THINGS– OTHERS TAKE FOR GRANTED!!!

      • Colleen says:

IF I HAD THE CASH I THINK I’D BUILD THE HOUSE IT AS TOXIC CHEMICAL FREE AND LET IT SET FOR A YEAR WITH AN AIR PURIFIER RUNNING THEN MAYBE IT WOULD BE WORKABLE.

  2. Stephanie says:

I’ve got a few minutes and got online to read posts.

I am jumping up and down with excitement for you!!!!!! I knew that house was out there (you knew it too, that’s why you kept looking).

Moving day can’t come soon enough but at the same time it will be too soon – always too much to do 🙂

    • THANK YOU—-THANK YOU—— AS GARY IS LOADING A MOVING TRUCK & TRAILER BY HIM SELF– SINCE I CAN’T HELP HIM— ONE LOAD ON THE WAY–TO KANSAS SOON—- TO STORAGE IN KANSAS– UNTIL WE CLOSE & GET POSSESSION—- WE DECIDED EACH TRIP WE HAD TO MAKE TO KANSAS FOR HOME INSPECTIONS– ETC- ETC– WE WOULD TAKE A MOVING TRUCK LOAD WITH US— & PUT IN STORAGE– AS THEN IT IS 300 MILES CLOSER TO OUR NEW HOME— I AM GOING TO FOLLOW GARY IN THE MOVING TRUCK & BIG TRAILER– IN THE RV—-( WITH MY MCS– I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MUCH AT ALL IN THE PAST 8 YEARS—- TOO MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS)— SO 300 PLUS MILES IN AN RV I HAVE HARDLY DRIVEN– IS GOING TO BE AN ADVENTURE– 🙂 THEN NEXT TRIP I GET TO PULL A TRAILER ALSO BEHIND THE RV—– NOW BEFORE MY HEALTH GOT WORSE– I THOUGHT NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT DOING SUCH THINGS— NOW THOSE THINGS ARE A BIG CHALLENGE– ESPECIALLY IF I RUN INTO ROAD CONSTRUCTION WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS– ETC. I JUST HOPE GARY CHECKS HIS REAR VIEW MIRROR OFTEN!!!!! 🙂

      • Stephanie says:

Driving an RV and driving an RV with a trailer sounds like a big challenge to me. I would do fine as long as I didn’t have to change lanes or back up 🙂
You will do fine. Won’t it be fun to make progress toward moving into your new home?
FYI – I’m sure you already know this but in case you don’t, when we moved across state lines and got a uhaul, we hired movers to load the truck since I have a piano that my husband says is made of cast iron 🙂 . We had to hire the movers for two hours, they loaded the truck and then we drove it away. Not much money for the work it saved us.

      • THANK YOU– THAT SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE HERE— GARY IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PICKY ABOUT HOW THINGS ARE LOADED— BUT WHEN WE MOVE FURNITURE– HE IS GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE HELP— HOPING WE CAN HIRE SOME OF THE GUYS WE KNOW WHO WORK HERE ON THE RESORT——- THANKS!!!!!

      • Stephanie says:

We are picky too. In fact when people from my church have moved, we let the young guys carry the stuff and my hubby and I packed it in the truck. More than one person told us how well the truck was packed and that nothing broke.

Hope you can hire some competent help. It was regular moving companies that would hire their guys out here – that’s why it was a two hour minimum.

It will all work out – it always does even when we wonder how it will 🙂

I am still really excited for you and your new move. Just having less stress in your life will improve your health. 🙂

      • FIRST U-HAUL TRUCK LOAD & U-HAUL TRAILER ARE NOW IN KANSAS IN A STORAGE UNIT!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

      • Stephanie says:

Congratulations! What an accomplishment! New home sweet home.
