About sondasmcschatter

I was encouraged to start a blog as I suffer from MCS /multi chemical sensitivities & other health problems & I have helped several hundred others who suffer from MCS set up "Safe Homes" & given them encouragement & HOPE & share information & lots of laughs along the way also. When you choose to use fragrances, chemicals, or pesticides, You are not simply making a choice for yourself, You are making a choice for everyone around you!!!! What makes me an expert on MCS-- not a darn thing-- BUT have lived with it for years-& years- & have learned lots the HARD WAY-- by experience!! And want to give others help & HOPE & encouragement -- as I know there are not many who understand what it is to live with this illness- & ALL THAT GOES WITH IT!!! Internet has been my way of communication with many who we are confined to their "safe homes" all over the USA & other countries!! I have communicated with many HUNDRED by e-mail-- phone & letters & internet forums-- I hope this blog will help in a better way to share laughter-- hope & information!!! As for many are not any longer able to even leave their homes-- & communication is sooo important & sharing & encouragement & GIVING HOPE!!!

  1. Stephanie says:

It’s nice to have friends who understand. Thanks.

  2. I commented on MCS Gal’s blog post but will share my frustration of today here as well.

When you need to vent, you need to vent! Nothing like those of us who also deal with this to understand.

Today was my uncle’s funeral. My husband attended the service at the mortuary. I then followed everyone on an hour’s drive to the Veteran’s Cemetary for a short service and internment. I drove the hour back and now my husband is at the reception with everyone. It is difficult to say the least when our sensitivities get in the way of important things. I am just glad that while it was cold outdoors, it didn’t rain like it has been raining the past few days. I guess I am glad for small favors. I am going to don my mask and visit my two cousins who came from out of state to the services for their father. I can sit in mother’s home with my mask if I keep it to a short visit.

    • I UNDERSTAND—TOTALLY UNDERSTAND— AS WHEN MY MOTHER DIED– I WAS SO SICK WITH MCS– I COULD NOT TRAVEL BACK TO KANSAS TO HER FUNERAL– IF I HAD BEEN ABLE TO TRAVEL– I COULD NOT HAVE GONE TO THE SERVICE WITH ALL THE PERFUME & TOXIC CHEMICALS!!! AND ALL THE CUT FLOWERS WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS– & NONE OF MY FAMILY UNDERSTANDS MY MCS ANY WAY– & SO NEEDLESS TO SAY– NO ONE UNDERSTOOD WHY I WAS NOT ABLE TO BE THERE– BUT SURE HEARD PLENTY OF NASTY & MEAN GOSSIP OF WHY I WAS NOT THERE—–
I AM NOT ABLE TO WEAR A MASK– DOES NO GOOD FOR ME—-AND THERE ARE SO MANY TIMES WE ARE NOT ABLE TO BE A PART OF MILESTONE EVENTS IN OUR LIVES BECAUSE OF MCS & MOST DON’T UNDERSTAND OR CARE TO UNDERSTAND!!! HAVING MCS SISTERS WHO DO UNDERSTAND MAKES THINGS MORE BAREABLE AT TIMES!!!
