HI COLLEEN– IT TOOK ME YEARS TO REALIZE SO MANY OF MY FRIENDS & FAMILY ARE ADDICTED— I MEAN TOTALLY ADDICTED TO SCENTS– THEY DON’T FEEL SECURE UNLESS THE ARE MARINATED IN TOXIC SCENTED CRAP!!! ALL THE COMMERCIALS & SOCIETY HAS TAUGHT THEM– THEY HAVE TO SMELL & STINK WITH UNNATURAL FRAGRANCES & NOT ONLY THEM– BUT THEIR HOMES & CARS– ETC- ETC!!!!!!!!!!!! AND MY OWN MOTHER WAS ADDICTED TO WEARING EVERYTHING SCENTED FROM BATH SOAP TO BODY LOTION TO HAND LOTION -TO PERFUME– TO LAUNDRY SOAP & FABRIC SOFTENERS — FROM HEAD TO TOE– SHE WAS TOXIC— I OFTEN WONDERED IF THAT WASN’T HALF OF HER HEALTH PROBLEMS— I KNOW IT MADE MY DAD SICK– & HE TOLD ME IT DID!!!! COME TO THINK OF IT– MY DAD WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTOOD HOW THE FRAGRANCES MADE ME ILL– BECAUSE THEY ALSO MADE HIM ILL!!! BUT BACK THEN WE DIDN’T HAVE A NAME FOR IT– “Multi Chemical Sensitivities” AND DAD & I FOUND OUT WE WERE NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR OTHERS IN OUR FAMILY TO CARE OR LISTEN OR CHANGE OR GIVE A RAT’S BUTT!! 🙂
Clean your room — became an hour-long discussion as to the why it had to be done and the when it was going to get done.
Do your homework — so many kids spent so much time avoiding doing the homework and then creating scenarios (that’s a nice word for lies) to explain why it didn’t get done that if the time had been applied to work they would have aced their work.
Put your dirty clothes in the hamper — is it so stressful to put stuff in the hamper rather than on the floor than it is to go through the stress of “discussing” why you didn’t do it?
