What is your favorite word and why?
As a writer, I often search for the perfect word — the one word that might be able to take the place of five less descriptive words. As someone with MCS, words often fail me — in the middle of speaking there is nothing but blankness. As a teacher, I was often asked, “Why do I have to learn this word?” As a mother, I taught my child that words matter. As a person, I’ve noticed that I rarely speak my favorite word(s). I may write about them but I rarely include them in a conversation.
Conversations primarily include words that I don’t much like: selfish, angry, war, arrest, accident, illness… This means for all that I have done to have more positive thoughts — I’m not if I’m speaking about negative stuff.
