DON’T PULL THAT DANDELION!!!!

Dandelions deserve a gold medal. One of the first links in that magical chain of events bringing dinner to our tables, this sunny flower is one of the first spring foods for bees. If bees survive the winter, they look to dandelions and other wildflowers for nutrition — so they can begin the work of pollinating our fruits and vegetables. As you know, the bees are in a pickle right now. Their population is dwindling. Let’s not kill off anything that helps the bees.

NEW STUDY links the toxic herbicide Roundup to Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. The USDA’s recent crop report stated that the use of Roundup on GMO crops has increased from 1.5 pounds per acre in 2001 to 2 pounds per acre in 2010. With the increasing development of superweeds, it is likely that this amount has continued to rise. A recently published study done on rain, air and water samples from 2007 in Mississippi found that 75% of the samples were contaminated with glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup. This leads us to ask: Are Roundup Ready crops wreaking havoc on our health? We’ll let you decide.

About sondasmcschatter

I was encouraged to start a blog as I suffer from MCS /multi chemical sensitivities & other health problems & I have helped several hundred others who suffer from MCS set up "Safe Homes" & given them encouragement & HOPE & share information & lots of laughs along the way also. When you choose to use fragrances, chemicals, or pesticides, You are not simply making a choice for yourself, You are making a choice for everyone around you!!!! What makes me an expert on MCS-- not a darn thing-- BUT have lived with it for years-& years- & have learned lots the HARD WAY-- by experience!! And want to give others help & HOPE & encouragement -- as I know there are not many who understand what it is to live with this illness- & ALL THAT GOES WITH IT!!! Internet has been my way of communication with many who we are confined to their "safe homes" all over the USA & other countries!! I have communicated with many HUNDRED by e-mail-- phone & letters & internet forums-- I hope this blog will help in a better way to share laughter-- hope & information!!! As for many are not any longer able to even leave their homes-- & communication is sooo important & sharing & encouragement & GIVING HOPE!!!

I love my sunny yellow dandelions. They are not going anywhere. I would love to know why people hate them so much?!

This made me sad. I hadn’t heard of the link between Roundup and non-Hodgkin’s. I had a very dear neighbour in Wales die of it a few years back and now another here in Ireland has it.
Last year I was astonished to find out that a friend of mine uses Roundup. He’s a botanist and an ecologist that once successfully fought to save a marshland from developers. I expected him to know better. I guess the advertisers know what they’re doing. 😦

    • OUR NEIGHBORS IN THIS AREA— USE ROUNDUP LIKE THEY ARE SPRAYING WATER– IT GETS MY BLOOD BOILING!!!!!!! STUPID PEOPLE!!!!

      • Sarah says:

Well, if the advertisers/marketing department can fool a well-educated ecologist like my friend then the rest of the public don’t stand a chance. It’s the manufacturer’s fault. Consumers are deliberately being fooled into thinking all these chemicals are safe.

      • ANOTHER REASON– WE NEED TO KEEP SHARING THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YA!!!

I’m trying to figure out a way to get messages like this into my artwork but I haven’t got very far yet. I’m grateful for people like you who try so hard to educate people on these issues. Keep up the good work. 🙂
