Why switch to ORGANIC cotton?? What’s the difference between conventional and organic cotton?

So, first, where is cotton found in our lives? Quick answer: almost everywhere. Our clothes, fabric, sheets, baby diapers, baby clothes, baby toys, etc.

Did you know that cotton uses the highest amount of pesticides of any crop? About 25 percent of the wold’s pesticides go into making that conventional cotton. Many of these chemicals are considered to be among the most toxic in the world.

Health risks of pesticide exposure from conventional cotton:
— weakens immune system
— birth defects
— reproductive disorders
— possible carcinogens

This not only affects all of us who wear or sleep in this cotton, but also the workers who have to hand pick it.

That’s why it’s MUCH better for farm workers, your family’s health as well as our earth to buy organic whenever possible.

Benefits of Organic Cotton:
— helps save the environment 🙂
— better working conditions for farm workers (no pesticide use)
— farmers save money by not purchasing pesticides
— for us consumers it’s much softer and gentler on our skinThe more we “vote” with our wallets and buy organic cotton (and other materials), the lower it will cost to purchase.

The amount of unhealthy substances that enter the human body is staggering. These substances are not only unhealthy, but harmful as well. When people think of these substances, they usually think of cigarette smoke, alcohol, and even fats, but what about sugar? Sugar can be just as unhealthy as any of these other substances, so why aren’t you doing more to eliminate it from your diet? If you can’t think of a good reason to stop eating sugar, here are six great reasons.
6 Reasons to Stop Eating Sugar #1: Obesity
If you don’t stop eating sugar, you will eventually begin to see the pounds pack on. You may think you’re invincible, that you’ve always been thin, but just wait until you start to get older. Some 60 million Americans are obese, do you really want to end up that way? If you stop eating foods packed with sugar, you will be closer to a healthier lifestyle.
6 Reasons to Stop Eating Sugar #2: DIABETES
If you pack on too many pounds, you may find yourself with diabetes. Diabetes can be a scary condition. Also if you don’t stop eating sugar, once you’ve been diagnosed with this condition, you could face other health problems like blindness and kidney failure. Luckily, if you change your diet and stop eating sugar, diabetes can be easy to keep under control.
6 Reasons to Stop Eating Sugar #3: Tooth Decay
You’ve heard it since you were a child and it’s true. Too many sweets will rot your teeth out. Do you really want to be toothless or would you rather stop eating sugar? It’s not the end of the world you know? There are several sugar free products that taste wonderful. With the invention of Splenda, these products have came a long ways. Try replacing just a few of your favorite sweets with sugar free products.
6 Reasons to Stop Eating Sugar #4: Calories
You’re right. Sugar is fat free. So what’s the big deal about eating it? The big deal is the calories. Sugar may be fat free, but it still contains calories. Fat free items like hard candy and sodas may be fat free, but that doesn’t mean you can eat all you want. Stop and read the nutrition label. The amount of sugar and calories is usually shocking.
6 Reasons to Stop Eating Sugar #5: Weight Loss
People always blame fatty foods for their weight problems, but what about those sugary sweets that are fat free? Have you worked really hard to cut fat from your diet, but still haven’t seen a significant weight loss? If you stop eating sugar, the weight will continue to come off. For example, people who consume regular sodas usually see a ten pound weight loss when they switch to diet sodas. Just one small change and they lost ten pounds. Can you imagine the weight loss if you cut other sugary foods from your diet as well?
6 Reasons to Stop Eating Sugar #6: Healthier Lifestyle
If you want a healthier lifestyle, you really should stop eating sugar. As you can see, the effects that sugar has on the body are dangerous. Not only does sugar cause weight gain, diabetes, tooth decay, but it just isn’t healthy, period. Replace sugary snacks and drinks with healthier alternatives. For example, eat fruit instead of candy. Drink water instead of soda. A healthier lifestyle doesn’t have to be hard and you and it starts when you stop eating sugar.

The State of Massachusetts just issued a ‘State of Emergency’ to warn people of a ‘Flu Virus’ and to scare them into getting a flu vaccine. From the words of Forest Gump, “As stupid is stupid does.” An so it is with the ‘Flu Virus’ theory and the injection of toxic harmful vaccines. Let’s just call the ‘Flu’ by its real name based on its true cause. For example, the so-called ‘Flu’ could be called the “Acidic Holiday Disease.” Or the “Holiday Stress Disease.” Or even a better name for the Flu could be, “I eat and drink too much protein, sugar, carbonated soda, and alcohol disease.” Or just simply “The acidic food and drink disease” during the Holiday Season. A fever will always accompany the Flu. Why? To eliminate the acidic waste products from eating and drinking too much sh.., through the pores of the skin. If metabolic and dietary acids are not removed through urination, defecation or respiration the body will self-induce a fever to remove them through the pores of the skin. Why? To protect the organs that sustain life from destructive dietary and/or metabolic acids. So what causes the symptoms of the Flu? That’s right – ACID! Or even better said acidic lifestyle an dietary choices. The Flu is the body’s wonderful defense mechanism to restore alkalinity to the blood and tissues. Isn’t the body wonderful even when we abuse it.

You simply assemble as follows:

1 box Angel Food cake mix
1 box any flavor cake mix
2 T. water

Using a large plastic bowl with a tightly fitting lid or a large zip lock bag, combine the two boxes of cake mix stirring or shaking well.

For each individual serving, take out 3 T. of the cake mixture and mix it with 2 T. of water in a small microwave safe container. I used a small coffee mug. Microwave on high for 1 minute. You now have your own instant individual cake and it is warm and inviting. You can top with a dollop of fruit or whipped topping if you like.

Try various flavors of cake mix but it must always be combined with an Angel Food mix.

Keep the mix tightly sealed in an airtight container until used and remember: This recipe is called 1-2-3 Cake because all you need to remember is 3 T.mix, 2 T. water, and 1 minute in the microwave.

Australian Gun Law Update

Here’s a thought to warm some of your hearts….
From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

… Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real
figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to
surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own
government, a program costing Australia taxpayers
more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria…..
lone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that
while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not
and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady
decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins andassaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in ‘successfully ridding Australian society of guns….’ You won’t see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the
hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it’s too late!
Will you be one of the sheep to turn yours in?
WHY? You will need it.

Tenth Acre Farms: An Abandoned Brooklyn Basketball Court Transformed into a Lush Green Space

Tenth Acre Farms was started in 2009 by three guys — Jordan Hall, Bennett Wilson, and Adam Wilson –who work part-time for, all of whom grew up with farming families. The project began as a small backyard garden behind Hall’s apartment in East Williamsburg, then expanded to the abandoned basketball court at St. Cecilia’s School at 215 Richardson St. in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
The farm is 100 percent organic, but the group says they will never apply for the official USDA certification because it is expensive, and it would unnecessarily raise the cost of Tenth Acre’s produce. Still, they give their word that no chemical ever touches the plants or soil.

Harmful deadly chemicals leach out and out gas while your sleeping on it.
Do you really think your safe on it?
Really .. Think? Are you always sick? Breathing problems? Bone and Joint Issues?

Scientist have found that one of the causes of S.I.D.S. is Toxic Oil Based Mattresses. Tiny babies Immune Systems are week and when they lay face down and …absorb the toxins , they overload their systems and kill them..

Did you know almost “ALL” Mattress are made from Oil Based Materials and are Very Toxic? While you sleep on it they Out-Gas Deadly Toxins ! Then they spray Toxic Flame Retardants and Insect Killers on your mattress…

When you choose to use fragrances, chemicals, or pesticides, You are not simply making a choice for yourself, You are making a choice for everyone around you!!!!

Researchers Confirm Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is Poisoning, Not Allergy

Researchers from Japan have confirmed that multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) is not an allergy.Rather, MCS is a condition in which individuals suffer with symptoms when exposed to low levels of toxic chemicals in the environment. Several studies have shown that people with MCS are unable to break down these toxicants efficiently, a function the liver normally serves.Researchers suggest that patients having allergic diseases may easily suffer from MCS at the same time or MCS may strengthen symptoms of allergic diseases. And though MCS and allergies may both occur in some people, they do not both occur in all people with one or the other condition.

Individuals who visited a specially built facility for Sick House Syndrome were examined in the study. Allergic rhinitis was the most popular allergic disease in the possible cases of MCS.

The key is understanding which is which so that proper targeted treatments may be selected. Testing is critical to making a proper diagnosis.

There are two types of reactions that may occur to the same chemical in different individuals:

Chemical Allergy

Toxicity (MCS)

In chemical allergy, the individual is actually allergic to the chemical and immunoglobulin E (IgE) is elevated. This is the type of reaction that would most readily respond to treatments such as low dose antigen therapy (LDA), nambudripad allergy elimination technique (NAET), and other allergy desensitization techniques.

In MCS, IgE is not elevated and the reaction is not allergic in nature. Often the reaction is of a toxic nature and results in neurological symptoms as opposed to typical allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and inflammation.

This neurological effect is what makes MCS disabling. The lack of IgE (allergy) renders MCS irresponsive to such treatments as LDA and NAET. Avoidance of chemical triggers is essential to maintaining functional capacity. This is often difficult to achieve as fragrances and chemicals which have neurotoxic effects are all around us.

It may appear that MCS is improving from allergy treatments in individuals who suffer from both allergies and MCS. When the allergic condition improves, it is not impacting the MCS condition as severely. The converse may also be true.

The most important information this study provides is confirmation that MCS symptoms are not easily treatable with allergy remedies. This also negates the perception that individuals with MCS overreact to what ails everyone. MCS is, based on studies showing impaired detoxification, quite literally, more attuned to chronic poisoning.

Kissinger’s 1974 Plan for Food Control Genocideby Joseph BrewdaOn Dec. 10, 1974, the U.S. National Security Council under Henry Kissinger completed a classi…fied 200-page study, “National Security Study Memorandum 200: Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests.” The study falsely claimed that population growth in the so-called Lesser Developed Countries (LDCs) was a grave threat to U.S. national security. Adopted as official policy in November 1975 by President Gerald Ford, NSSM 200 outlined a covert plan to reduce population growth in those countries through birth control, and also, implicitly, war and famine. Brent Scowcroft, who had by then replaced Kissinger as national security adviser (the same post Scowcroft was to hold in the Bush administration), was put in charge of implementing the plan. CIA Director George Bush was ordered to assist Scowcroft, as were the secretaries of state, treasury, defense, and agriculture.

The bogus arguments that Kissinger advanced were not original. One of his major sources was the Royal Commission on Population, which King George VI had created in 1944 “to consider what measures should be taken in the national interest to influence the future trend of population.” The commission found that Britain was gravely threatened by population growth in its colonies, since “a populous country has decided advantages over a sparsely-populated one for industrial production.” The combined effects of increasing population and industrialization in its colonies, it warned, “might be decisive in its effects on the prestige and influence of the West,” especially effecting “military strength and security.”

NSSM 200 similarly concluded that the United States was threatened by population growth in the former colonial sector. It paid special attention to 13 “key countries” in which the United States had a “special political and strategic interest”: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Turkey, Nigeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia. It claimed that population growth in those states was especially worrisome, since it would quickly increase their relative political, economic, and military strength.

For example, Nigeria: “Already the most populous country on the continent, with an estimated 55 million people in 1970, Nigeria’s population by the end of this century is projected to number 135 million. This suggests a growing political and strategic role for Nigeria, at least in Africa.” Or Brazil: “Brazil clearly dominated the continent demographically.” The study warned of a “growing power status for Brazil in Latin America and on the world scene over the next 25 years.”

Food as a weapon

There were several measures that Kissinger advocated to deal with this alleged threat, most prominently, birth control and related population-reduction programs. He also warned that “population growth rates are likely to increase appreciably before they begin to decline,” even if such measures were adopted.

A second measure was curtailing food supplies to targetted states, in part to force compliance with birth control policies: “There is also some established precedent for taking account of family planning performance in appraisal of assistance requirements by AID [U.S. Agency for International Development] and consultative groups. Since population growth is a major determinant of increases in food demand, allocation of scarce PL 480 resources should take account of what steps a country is taking in population control as well as food production. In these sensitive relations, however, it is important in style as well as substance to avoid the appearance of coercion.”

“Mandatory programs may be needed and we should be considering these possibilities now,” the document continued, adding, “Would food be considered an instrument of national power? … Is the U.S. prepared to accept food rationing to help people who can’t/won’t control their population growth?”

Kissinger also predicted a return of famines that could make exclusive reliance on birth control programs unnecessary. “Rapid population growth and lagging food production in developing countries, together with the sharp deterioration in the global food situation in 1972 and 1973, have raised serious concerns about the ability of the world to feed itself adequately over the next quarter of century and beyond,” he reported.

The cause of that coming food deficit was not natural, however, but was a result of western financial policy: “Capital investments for irrigation and infrastucture and the organization requirements for continuous improvements in agricultural yields may be beyond the financial and administrative capacity of many LDCs. For some of the areas under heaviest population pressure, there is little or no prospect for foreign exchange earnings to cover constantly increasingly imports of food.”

“It is questionable,” Kissinger gloated, “whether aid donor countries will be prepared to provide the sort of massive food aid called for by the import projections on a long-term continuing basis.” Consequently, “large-scale famine of a kind not experienced for several decades—a kind the world thought had been permanently banished,” was foreseeable—famine, which has indeed come to pass.

With Obama using much of the corn for fuel, the drought (HAARP), the planned financial crisis, the elite screaming about depopulation and Monsanto, we should consider that the UN may have this planned for us right now in the United States. We pose a threat to the UN (New World Order).

Automatic Dishwasher Detergent
If you have ever made the mistake of using hand dishwashing liquid in a dishwasher, you will know from personal experience that that kind soap and dishwashers are not a good match. If not, take it from me: Your entire kitchen floor will be very clean after you’ve mopped up the mounds of suds that squeeze out through the dishwasher’s vents. But never fear, it is quite easy to make your own effective powder for use in the dishwasher. Many online sources tell you to mix borax and washing soda half and half, and this may work OK if you have very soft water or a water-softening system, but if you don’t, you’ll end up with soapy scum and/or powdery residue on everything—yuck. This residue problem is not unique to homemade concoctions, either. Some commercial products paired with hard water may be just as unsatisfactory. To fix the problem, add the same ingredient that many good commercial products use: citric acid. Citric acid powder is available at winemaking or cheese-making supply stores, or it’s easy to find online. It often comes packaged in plastic, but one container will last a long time if you keep it dry, so the amount of plastic trash generated per load is very small.
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda OR 2 cups baking soda
½ cup citric acid
½ cup salt
Put all the ingredients in a large wide-mouth glass jar with a tight lid, screw on the lid, and shake until everything is well combined. Store with the lid on and don’t worry if the powder gets lumpy. It will still work. Use a heaping tablespoon per load (1½ tablespoons if you used baking soda), and keep your rinse aid dispenser filled with white vinegar. If your glassware is cloudy after using your homemade detergent, make sure the water in your dishwasher is very hot (you can run the sink faucet until the water is hot just before you turn on the dishwasher) and try increasing the amount of citric acid in the recipe until the problem disappears.
Dishwasher Cleaner
It isn’t unusual for soap, grease, and food particles to start building up in the corners of your dishwasher, regardless of the type of dishwasher detergent you’re using. If you bought citric acid to make detergent, you can also use it to remove gunk buildup (it is the active ingredient in commercial products such as “Dishwasher Magic”). Put ¼ cup of citric acid powder in a coffee mug and put it right-side up on the upper rack of an empty dishwasher and run a normal cycle.

Fabric softeners
Some of the harmful ingredients commonly found in liquid or sheet fabric softeners include:• Chloroform: This substance was used as an anesthesia in the 1800s up through the early 1900s when its potential for causing fatal cardiac arrhythmia was discovered. A carcinogenic neurotoxin, it is on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list. Inhaling its vapors may cause loss of consciousness, nausea, headache, vomiting, and/or dizziness, drowsiness. It may aggravate disorders of the heart, kidneys or liver. Its effects worsen when subjected to heat.• A-Terpineol: Causes Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders, meaning problems relating to the brain and spine such as Alzheimer’s disease, ADD, dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, seizures, strokes, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Early symptoms of CNS problems include aphasia, blurred vision, disorientation, dizziness, headaches, hunger, memory loss, numbness in face, pain in neck and spine. A-Terpineol also irritates the mucous membranes and, if aspirated into the lungs, can cause respiratory depression, pneumonia or fatal edema.

• Benzyl Alcohol: This upper respiratory tract irritant can cause central nervous system (CNS) disorders, headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and dramatic drops in blood pressure.

• Benzyl Acetate: This substances has been linked to pancreatic cancer. Its vapors can be irritating to eyes and respiratory passages and it can also be absorbed through the skin.

• Ethanol: Another fabric softener ingredient which is on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list and linked to CNS disorders.

• Pentane: A chemcial known to be harmful if inhaled.

• Ethyl Acetate: This substance, which is on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list, can be irritating to the eyes and respiratory tract. It may also cause severe headaches and loss of consciousness, as well as damage to the liver and kidneys.

• Camphor: Another substance on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list. It is easily absorbed through body tissue, causing irritation of eyes, nose and throat. Camphor can also cause dizziness, confusion, nausea, twitching muscles and convulsions.

• Linalool: A narcotic known to cause respiratory problems and CNS disorders. In animal testing, exposure to linalool has resulted in death.

• Phthalates: Used in scented products to help the scent last longer, phthlates have been linked to breast cancer and reproductive system problems.

• Limonene: This known carcinogen can cause irritation to eyes and skin.

• Also, if you follow a vegan lifestyle, you should be aware that many fabric softener sheets are made using tallow, a form of animal fat.

Manufacturers are aware that the products contain toxic chemcials. The packaging on many brands include a warning that the product should not be used on children’s sleepwear. Since some of the same brands also have large images of children and toys, however, consumers may miss the small print message.

Here is a list of just some of the chemicals found in fabric softeners and dryer sheets:
* Benzyl acetate: Linked to pancreatic cancer
* Benzyl Alcohol: Upper respiratory tract irritant
* Ethanol: On the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Hazardous Waste list and can cause central nervous system disorders
* Limonene: Known carcinogen
* A-Terpineol: Can cause respiratory problems, including fatal edema, and central nervous system damage
* Ethyl Acetate: A narcotic on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list
* Camphor: Causes central nervous system disorders
* Chloroform: Neurotoxic, anesthetic and carcinogenic
* Linalool: A narcotic that causes central nervous system disorders
* Pentane: A chemical known to be harmful if inhaled
So how could products with pretty names like Soft Ocean Mist, Summer Orchard and April Fresh be so dangerous?
The chemicals in fabric softeners are pungent and strong smelling — so strong that they require the use of these heavy fragrances (think 50 times as much fragrance) just to cover up the smells. Furthermore, synthetic fabrics, which are the reason fabric softeners were created in the first place, do not smell good either when heated in a dryer or heated by our bodies … hence the need for even more hefty fragrances.
In other words, remove all the added fragrance that endears people to fabric softeners and — like the cliché wolf in sheep’s clothing — the real smells of the chemical-laced fabric softener and the synthetic fabrics they were designed around may prompt people to shoot their laundry machines and be done with it.
Are “Soft” Clothes Worth It?
Fabric softeners are made to stay in your clothing for long periods of time. As such, chemicals are slowly released either into the air for you to inhale or onto your skin for you to absorb. Dryer sheets are particularly noxious because they are heated in the dryer and the chemicals are released through dryer vents and out into the environment. Health effects from being exposed to the chemicals in fabric softeners include:
* Central nervous system disorders
* Headaches
* Nausea
* Vomiting
* Dizziness
* Blood pressure reduction
* Irritation to skin, mucus membranes and respiratory tract
* Pancreatic cancer

Soften Your Clothes Safely With These Tips
Even if you don’t feel the effects of these chemicals today, they can affect you gradually over time, and children, whose systems are still developing, are particularly at risk. There’s really no reason to expose yourself to these risky chemicals when natural alternatives exist. Not only are they safer for you, your family and the environment, but they’re much more economical too:
* Add a quarter cup of baking soda to wash cycle to soften fabric
* Add a quarter cup of white vinegar to rinse to soften fabric and eliminate cling

Today’s fabric softeners are made of noxious chemicals combined with a massive amount of fragrance that masks their nose-curling odors. Fabric softener actually makes material less absorbent, which is not a good thing for your bath towels anyway.

Here is a list of just SOME of the toxic chemicals found in commercial fabric softeners:

  • Alpha Terpineol: can cause central nervous damage and respiratory problems
  • Camphor: causes central nervous disorders, is easily absorbed through skin
  • Chloroform: a carcinogenic neurotoxin preferred by Ted Bundy
  • Benzyl Acetate: linked to pancreatic cancer
  • Benyl Alcohol: respiratory tract irritant
  • Ethanol: on the EPA’s “hazardous waste” list, can cause central nervous system disorders
  • Ethyl Acetate: a narcotic on the EPA’s “hazardous waste” list
  • Limonene: a known carcinogen that irritates eyes and skin
  • Linalool: causes central nervous system disorders and depresses heart activity

Using a liquid fabric softener? You are pouring these toxic chemicals into the ocean every time you use it. Even worse than liquid fabric softeners are dryer sheets, whose chemicals are heated and then shot into the air for you to breathe into your lungs. That “fresh-from-the-dryer” smell that fabric softeners impart to your clean load of laundry? Don’t breathe it in, if you like your lungs to function. That super floral smell is masking a seriously unhealthy chemical stench.

The bottom line? You don’t need fabric softener. Why use a product that has been linked to various forms of cancer, brain damage and respiratory distress?

I get asked all the time– well what do you use for your laundry?????

Dr Bonner’s unscented all natural liquid castile soap — a few DROPS WILL DO A WHOLE LOAD OF LAUNDRY!!! I use white vinegar in my fabric softener diapenser for a fabric softener– I don’t need any thing else!!!!!!!!!

Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) is a
medical condition characterized by debilitating
chemical sensitivities. People who are chemically
sensitive are made sick by exposures to
chemicals found in many common products such
as pesticides, perfumes, tobacco smoke, new
carpets, air “fresheners,” new paint and building
materials, and many cleaning and laundry
products. Most of these chemicals will make
everyone sick at high levels, but for chemically
sensitive people exposures to even small
amounts of these substances can cause
symptoms. Some chemically sensitive people are
only mildly affected while others have the more
severe form of the illness called MCS.
Symptoms experienced by people with MCS
range from mild to life-threatening and include
headache, trouble concentrating, nausea,
diarrhea, fatigue, muscle and joint pain,
dizziness, difficulty breathing, irregular heart
beat, and seizures. MCS symptoms in children
include red cheeks and ears, dark circles under
the eyes, hyperactivity, and behavior or learning
problems. After an exposure, symptoms may
occur immediately or be delayed for up to a few
days. Reactions may last from a few seconds to
weeks or months. People with MCS often react to
a variety of foods, drugs, molds, and pollen as
well as chemicals.
Creating a Healthier Environment
Reducing exposures to chemicals improves the
health of those with MCS. Better air quality also
helps promote the health of everyone. The
following are ways to create a healthier
· Avoid pesticides, use least toxic integrated
pest management (IPM)
· Avoid newly built or remodeled buildings, or
build with less toxic materials
· Avoid new paint and solvent-based stains and
transparent finishes
· Avoid new carpets
· Avoid gasoline, solvent, dry-cleaning, and tar
· Avoid tobacco smoke and vehicle exhaust
· Use least toxic, natural, and unscented
cleaning, laundry, and sanitizing products
· Avoid perfume, cologne, and scented
personal care products
· Avoid air “freshener” sprays, incense, and
fragrance-emitting devices
· Use electric utilities or radiant heat
· Open windows, ventilate buildings with clean
fresh air and/or use portable room air filters
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is basically a subset of Environmental Illness (EI), which is caused by living in a toxic world. The chemicals that were synthesized after World War II (including, pesticides, synthetic fragrances, cleaning products, detergents, etc.) are mostly “petro-chemicals” (petroleum based) and are quite toxic to humans. There have been virtually no studies done on the majority of these chemicals to see how they affect humans – the industry just placed the chemicals in the environment with the assumption that they are “safe, till proven toxic”, instead of the other way around. One of the biggest offenders is PERFUME and other scented products. Did you know that many of the ingredients in your perfume are the exact same ingredients found in GASOLINE??!! I didn’t either! The scary thing is that the perfume industry is NOT REGULATED at all – they can put any number of chemicals in fragrance without revealing what those chemicals are – or how they affect humans. We humans are all participating in a giant “lab experiment” against our knowledge and against our will, and it’s making some of us VERY sick.
Those of us who are becoming chronically ill from these chemicals are similar to the “canaries in the coal mine”. Coal miners would take a canary into the mines with them to warn them when the air became toxic. They knew that when the canary stopped singing or died, it was time to get out before it affected them as well. We “human canaries” are here to warn the rest of you that, unless you start making changes and avoid as many toxic chemicals as possible, you too may become very sick. Non toxic living
is actually much “simpler” and cheaper!
Don’t be fooled, these chemicals are affecting ALL of us in some way or another. Think about the last time you got a headache for no apparent reason. Could it be possible that someone had recently sprayed perfume or pesticides near you without you knowing it? Had you recently used scented laundry detergent or Clorox to clean with? Do you get headaches or feel nauseous from being around people wearing perfume or cologne? Do you feel you need to hold your breath when you go down the detergent aisle at the grocery store? All these things are your body’s way of telling you something is wrong with the air you’re breathing. While an MBA in health care may help you understand the whys and wherefores of the medical issues it doesn’t take a masters degree to listen to your body and know that things are not right.
It’s like playing “Russian Roulette” – you never know how long your immune system can hold out before breaking down. Some people may never reach the point of “chronic illness” that I did – but most people are being affected, possibly without realizing it. Cancer has increased dramatically since World War II (after all the chemicals came out). Attention Deficit Disorder is on the rise (more and more of our children are being put on toxic, brain-altering drugs like Ritalin when simply cleaning up their environment could solve their problems). Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Alzheimer’s Disease, Allergies, Asthma, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and Multiple Sclerosis are also increasing. All these illnesses could very well have a chemical connection to their cause or, at the very least, these patients would benefit from using less-toxic products. Pretty much any “immune system” disorder could be helped by a cleaner environment and by using safer products.
The products we use on our skin are absorbed directly into the bloodstream (the reason why nitroglycerine, nicotine, and hormone patches work). The chemicals we breathe (such as perfumes, formaldehyde, pesticides, etc.) all go straight to our brains and can cause low-level to severe damage – similar to how someone can snort cocaine or glue to get a “high”. Start reading labels – check for petro-chemicals, formaldehyde, and fragrance, and avoid them as much as possible. A clue that an ingredient may be a petro-chemical is the “prop” prefix. A clue that an ingredient releases formaldehyde is “Quaternium”. Be careful about products labeled “fragrance free” or “unscented”. Don’t trust them! Read the label and be sure they don’t list “fragrance” or “masking fragrance”. Don’t put anything on your skin you’d be afraid to eat, because the end result is the same!
Before I got sick, I had no clue that I was slowly being “poisoned” by products that I assumed were “safe” since they were on the market! If this could happen to me – YOU COULD BE NEXT.

TO: All service providers
RE: ____________________________________
The above named patient has a condition known as Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS). Kindly read this carefully and do your best to comply as fully as possible. You may already know that hospitals and service providers are required to accommodate special needs under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please note that MCS can be life-threatening even though the usual signs of a medical crisis aren’t always apparent until extensive damage has already been done.
1. 1. Pure air
Assign patient to a secluded room or small enclosed area as quickly as possible, isolated from other people, and when possible, a small room with a window that opens to fresh air. An isolation room is often a good choice.
Avoid new furnishings, paint, freshly shampooed carpet, air fresheners, new plastics and latex. Avoid alcohol. (Zephiran is the preferred alternative to alcohol for skin antisepsis; hydrogen peroxide is sometimes adequate). Anything with fumes or odor that you can smell will most likely be problematic for this patient.
Assign staff to this patient who are not wearing cologne or after-shave and tend to use fragrance-free (f.f.) products. (Note: most shaving creams contain fragrance.
Make oxygen available as soon as possible. (Patient may have brought tubing; if not, older tubing is preferable to newer.)
2. Expedite treatment.
MCS patients are seriously compromised in public buildings.
3. Don’t judge patient based on your own sense of smell.
Healthy people often can’t smell chemicals that harm MCS patients.
4. Write down any instructions you want the patient to remember.
Chemicals impair brain function and memory in MCS patients. Don’t expect the patient to
remember, no matter how clearly you give the instructions.
5. Approach the patient in a calm and supportive manner.
Chemical exposures can cause MCS patients to become anxious, depressed, confused, or even
panicky and disruptive. Pay attention to what the patient tells you about immediate needs.
Repeat back the main points of what you heard and explain what is being done to accommodate
the situation.
6. Flag patient’s chart as an MCS reactor.
If patient is to be hospitalized or undergo surgery, assign a patient advocate or social worker
to coordinate the extremely daunting preparations for ensuring optimal safety from chemical

‎’One 12-ounce can of cola contains enough phosphoric acid to dramatically change our pH. The pH of cola is between 2.8 and 3.2, but the kidneys cannot excrete urine that is more acidic than about 5.0; in order to dilute this can of cola to an appropriate urinary pH, you’d need to produce 33 liters of urine! So, the body turns to its stores of alkalizing minerals. If there aren’t enough reserves of potassium and magnesium in the extracellular fluid, then calcium will be taken from bone. But the amount of minerals needed for this particular task is equivalent to the buffering capacity of four Tums! Thus, a lifetime of consuming soft drinks contributes to bone loss and joint degeneration.’

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside. “That laundry is not very clean”, she said. “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.”Her husband looked on, but remained silent….

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: “Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this.”The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”

And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life. If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted. If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. If you want different results in your life or your work, all you have to do is change your mind, create a motivation and make a decision.
Motivation > Belief > Action > Result…

I have read hundreds of articles on children’s diet– & then the teachers say because of the horrible chemical toxic crap our many children eat instead of real food—they say put the kids on chemical drugs for ADHD etc etc etc-& so many other chemical drugs– our children are bombed with toxic chemicals in their food– their laundry soap– their fabric softener sheets– scented candles– perfume… aftershave– even the damned t-paper is scented with toxic chemicals– BUT– NO–LET’S NOT LOOK AT WHAT HORRIBLE CHEMICALS– WE ARE EXPOSING OUR CHILDREN TO EVERY SINGLE DAY– & NO WAY TO ESCAPE IT— LET’S FEED THOSE POOR BABIES SOME CHEMICAL TOXIC DRUGS & — PUSHED BY DRUG COMPANIES– & THEN LET’S WONDER WHAT HAPPENS TO THESE SAME PEOPLE — WHEN TERRIBLE TRAGIC UNBLIEVABLE — THINGS OCCUR!!!!!!!! Let’s blame the “guns”!!!
